Do you work online? Are you interested in starting to work online? No matter what category you fall into, I’ve got some tips for you. Making money online is completely possible, but maybe not how you’ve always imagined. I also know there are plenty of gurus out there talking about how they made six figures in a few months with little to no investment – good for them, but I don’t think that’s the reality for most people. If you’re interested in making money online, or more money online, then follow these realistic tips to get started.

1. Learn SEO
SEO is one of the most important aspects about most projects online. If you’re new to this industry, SEO stands for “search engine optimisation” and it’s all about how to get websites ranked higher in search engines such as Google and Yahoo. So much traffic is found through search engines, that learning how to make content that appeals to search engines and drives traffic is one of the biggest challenges for any online business. You need to think about SEO as the vehicle in which your clients will arrive at your online website! Now SEO can be useful for two reasons, one of them being driving traffic to your own website or online store. The second way it can prove useful to you, is if you want to freelance as a SEO manager, or a content writer who focuses on solid SEO. Either way, learning SEO and becoming an expert in it is a wonderful way to make money online.

2. Reduce Your Expenses
If you’re already working online or have a business online, how do you receive payments? If you use any third party, like Paypal, Payoneer etc then chances are you’re losing a ton of fees each month. While there aren’t any clear standard alternatives at the moment, it might be worth checking to see how much of your monthly income goes towards fees and if there’s anything you can do to minimise it. It may be a case of raising your prices in order to absorb that fee, it could be asking your clients to cover Paypal’s transaction fee. Whatever the solution you come up with, being aware of how much you’re spending in fees and if there’s anyway you can reduce things is the first step. If you accept payments directly through your website then it might be worth checking out other alternative payment options such as https://www.paay.co/emv-3ds

3. Get a Side Hustle
A side hustle is a project that you do along side your other main income generation. It can be online or a traditional side hustle, but I’m going to focus on online side hustles for the purpose of this article. The easiest way to get a side hustle that pays fast, is to do something remotely for someone else. While building an online business can be an excellent way to earn extra income, there’s a long period of investing time without any returns. I’m guessing if you’re here, you need some extra cash flow fast. You can use websites like Upwork in order to find work online. There’s almost anything available online, with easier jobs like data entry all the way up to more specialized work like project management. So no matter your previous experience, I’m sure there’s something you can easily do online for some extra cash.

4. Outsource
If you already have an established online business, then you’re probably wondering how you can make more cash from it. At some point, in order to scale your business, you’re likely going to need some extra help. When I first started working online, I found that there were aspects of looking for freelance work I really didn’t enjoy. I hated sorting through low paying content jobs in order to find the few that paid in the range that I was interested. After reading The Four Hour Work Week, I decided that it would make more sense that I was working than spending hours trolling through projects that left me feeling mostly defeated. I decided to hire a Virtual Assistant from the Philippines and began working with her. She would help me find contracts to apply to, and I would spend my time making money rather than feeling a bit defeated. It was a great solution and to this day I still work with her, even though it’s in a different capacity. Outsourcing allows you to focus on the growth of your business, rather than spending all your waking hours just maintaining things how they are.

Making money online is a great way to supplement your income or to create a full income. Use these tips to improve how you operate online in order to see even better results!
